2024 ECLIPSE NEWSLETTERS

April 8, 2024

My head is spinning. The astrology of April is plentiful and overwhelming to consume. There is nothing to fear – sometimes it is better if life changes efficiently. Surrendering is an answer and not a means to an end. Oftentimes when we really want something to change, we have to try so damn hard. My feeling is – April maybe we don’t need to try. One thing is for sure – you’ll be hearing from me more than usual. I want to be more present in your inbox this month. Even if just for a sentence or two. And guess what? After an intense and totally chaotic, dramatic move, I am beyond grateful to be in a new apartment and back in my studio-office. thank goodness, thank you eclipse. I cannot wait to see so many of my amazing clients this month and for you to see the epic altar I am building haha

Enough of me – let’s get to the astrology.

Number 1 – Eclipses are not scary, they are natural occurrences. They feel scary. They definitely look rather apocalyptic but eclipses speed up time. They are an exhilarating, and more heightened approach to life. Life on steroids, but hey life is inherently existing amidst a gamut of crazy and this world is … unspeakably hard to fathom. Sometimes I feel like anything could be eclipsed at any moment.

Life is a continuum between chance and choice, possibility and reality, speed and slow-motion. In the process of speeding time, eclipses both eliminate and add. Compress, release, subtract, multiply, divide.

19º Aries

2:21 PM EST | 1:21 PM CST | 12:21 PM MST | 11:21 AM PST

Total Solar Eclipse visible starting in Mazatlan and ending in Newfoundland

In the United States, the eclipse will be most visible in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire.

Go to greatamericaneclipse.com to learn the exact moment it is most visible where you are plus much more juicy information. This is a fantastic website I like to frequent!

This is a total solar eclipse in Aries meaning the sun is our focus. The sky goes dark illuminating the Sun’s corona and in none other than an actually illuminated position – the sun is uplifted in Aries, glistening in its exaltation. Look y’all this is a beautiful eclipse. It is loud and obvious in Aries! We are talking strong self-effacing, self-realized, self-standing, self-uplifting– It is determined, temperamental, aggressively passionate and heavy-headed (Aries rules the skull) - our contemplations are thorough. Aries is the journey of the self - the sun is our compass. Since this eclipse specifically targets the journey of the self, we are being asked to identify who that self is and how we are changing our relationship to particular components that make us who we are individually.

Those with Sun, Moon, or Rising in Aries and/or if you have Mercury, Venus and/or Mars in Aries the changes are a bit more poignant, obvious, and sharp. It is also important to note any other cardinal placements – Cancer, Capricorn, Libra – and also fire placements – Leo and Sagittarius. And lastly, do you have any planets at 19º or within 4º of 19º? All questions we can answer together – I know some people can read their birth chart and others cannot. Reading your own chart and interpretation are two different things. Perhaps you can read it but you don’t know what it means. Or perhaps you know what some things mean but you have no idea why. Look – if you haven’t had a session in a long time or you don’t have a regular practice with astrology or your own birth-chart then the month of April is the time.

This is an opportunity for investigating and deeply uncovering a part of yourself that quite literally needs to change, must change, has no choice but to change. And the more you know about your birth-chart, the more you are able to direct this energy.

This eclipse is asking us to work with Chiron who is at the exact same degree as the eclipse, and not only the same degree, but the SAME MINUTE. The sun, the moon, and Chiron are all at 19º and 24 minutes. I rarely speak to minutes of a degree unless the proximity is astronomically close. Chiron is healing the part of ourselves that needs to be changed, staring down wounds and traumas that the Aries part of your chart has endured. Some areas of the chart are more literal than others.

I want you to understand something. However bold Aries is, this sign confronts fear all the time. Fear of the self, and what you’re capable of. Because it is the first astrological energy of the calendar, it is unabashed and then terrified, like a puppy or child running into a playground or a field quickly to realize even that has repercussions. When there is fear or frustration with yourself that comes up during this eclipse, inner anger, or the need to search for chaos – remember the purpose of things being lifted to the surface is in order for you to release them into the past and realize that nothing really matters but this given moment. It is time to be new. Don’t be frustrated by what you have or have not done or been. Just be grateful you have more time to be who you envision yourself to be. Invite changes, reflection, allow your mind to wander –

This Aries season is certainly different as is any season that is overshadowed by eclipses – this

Monday, March 25 5º Libra4:20 AM EST/1:20 AM PST/2:20 AM MST/ 3:20 AM CST

If you've worked with me for awhile and been apart of my network than you know I approach sessions during Eclipse Seasons very differently since the weather in the sky is jolted by the reality that at any moment something could be 'eclipsed'–obscured by light and morphed into the unexpected. It is during eclipse season the moon speeds things up or pushes things out. I adore meeting with clients during eclipse seasons because instead of speaking to plans ahead – we must speak to the present moment. Oftentimes conversations surround fears and truths. And...decisions that must be made now and not later – we can't be afraid of the outcomes of these decisions, we just need to make them and throw caution to the wind.

Aries and Libra is what I like to refer to as the mythological axis of the human condition. With honesty, I say that eclipses in Aries and Libra are extremely self-effacing. The challenges will ask us to get out of our own way, to confront sticky situations truthfully without over complying to the inclination to people-please.

This eclipse season is also quite healing – Chiron, the wounded healer's involvement points us to look unabashedly within and Mercury is right there in the mix – so talk to yourself, guide yourself with insight, look to your experiences and realize they are all full of rich information – information only learned at a younger age. The wisdom of maturation is the essence here.

Eclipses always highlight the time of year where individual transformation is felt on a collective level. Eclipses are narratives. This series began its foray in Aries-Libra on October 14, 2023 with a Solar Eclipse in Libra. I encourage you to look back on this time in your photo-album (because we, in this age, have such a privilege to do so!) and I invite you to see how what is happening now is a kind of continuation of what was happening then looking specifically at this narrative:  where are you as an individual and solo-being, and how is your exterior world conveying this to you, (Aries is obvious! literal! expressive!)and where are you in relation to otherhood/partnership/creative expression? How are both sides of the coin being incorporated? What needs to change?

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse

1:34 PM EST | 10:34 AM PST | 12:34 PM CST | 11:34 AM MST

14º Scorpio

AN ECLIPSE OF PATHOS

How to be during an eclipse of this nature? Be is the operative word. What does it mean ‘to be?’ It means – to exist, to just be in your being. Your personal exertion of force, control, manifestation is off the table because the moon is powerfully forceful, controlling, manifesting right now. While generally during the year we can work with the moon – during an eclipse season – the moon is working us. Now it is safe to say, by May 12 we will really feel the effects of this eclipse energy start to dissipate and the closer we get to the end of Taurus season, May 20, the more the energy fades away. But for now, we are in the depths of it. I anticipate the energy next week to feel super different as the moon moves in Sagittarius, Capricorn, and beyond.

A lunar eclipse provides a portal into our emotional lives that is not usually open – with this lunar eclipse, the moon is in ‘fall.’ It has trouble being in Scorpio and just like the phrase Moon In Fall suggests.. the moon is quite literally falling backward, falling away from what the moon provides us – access to our internal environment, the ability to digest and process our emotions, the capacity to ruminate healthily. So during a lunar eclipse in Scorpio, the challenges of being a human being can feel massive and astronomically daunting.

I see a lot of my colleagues talking about this eclipse as a time for shadow-work… I agree. But I want to discuss what that means:

We all have areas in our life where we feel that the worst version of ourselves becomes visible, or territories of our life where we feel like we are always failing or becoming slaves to a pattern we cannot break. The operative word here is FEEL. We Feel. Feeling is quite changeable. Right? We can feel one way today, another way tomorrow, and a landscape of difference in a year or… two. Ah Yes, an eclipse series! So let’s go back in time. Mental-Emotional Time Travel is the only thing we can actually do during a lunar eclipse.

Let’s go back to 2021. November 19, 2021 was the first eclipse in the Scorpio-Taurus series, launching a 1.5-2 year narrative that has changed our reality and our feelings around specific themes. I would encourage you to look back (photos, emails, journals, social media, voice memos, notes, whatever helps you track time) and also reflect deeply on what has actually changed and the events surrounding those changes. And how presently, we find ourselves in new situations because of the events that have occurred over the past two years.

Now – for those with strong fixed placements (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, Aquarius) the changes are slightly more obvious and direct – like you can really track particular aspects of you and your life shifting throughout the course of these past two years. (As someone with both my sun and moon in fixed signs, the narratives have been glaringly, aggressively clear).

Currently, we are in the waters of what is meant to live, die, and transform in our lives. Scorpio provides the gateway to understanding these different avenues. Yes, certain patterns are meant to die, certain perceptions of ourselves are meant to die, perhaps tangible situations are meant to die, and perhaps they already have over the course of the past two years. But here’s where it gets difficult. What is meant to end and what is meant to transform are very different. Situationally, many scenarios are simply meant to transform. Transformation requires a sieve. There are circumstances filtering through but what is dying is our approach to it, our emotional patterns in it, our negative feeling about ourself in whatever the circumstance is. The shame, the regret, the guilt, the cycle, the spiral, the internal narrative, I could go on and on but these are the tough, emotional, shadow-y hardships that a Scorpio eclipse is phenomenal at shoving in our guts and scaring us with in order to provoke the transformative action that is ahead, Ahead – not now. This too shall pass. Remember that.

While you are in this [specifically May 4-6] please remember to take care of your body. The moon is the physical body, the moon is what grounds us. Drink water, sleep, pay attention to your dreams, hot showers, do something physical if it feels right or just stretch and breathe.

I want to encourage anyone who feels particularly shaken right now to check-in with me this weekend. I’m going to open my availability. We will discuss the narrative and themes that have changed, transformed and felt differently over the past two years; what other planetary transits have coincided with this eclipse series. We will have an eye-opening conversation. And my hope is these conversations will calm you – bring you clarity, logic, and reason about that which is living, dying, re-birthing and transforming.

HYBRID SOLAR ECLIPSE

29º ARIES

Hello from my desk where I am marveling over this eclipse chart. Let’s get into it.

#1 This second new moon in Aries occurs in the last few hours of Aries season at the 29th degree. So – whatever intention or area of focus you nestled into on or around March 21 there I would imagine you’ve seen progress, development, new challenges, lessons and hopefully some answers. And if not then we have eclipse season to really take care of whatever has not been solved.

I’m trying to be cavalier here because we all know eclipse season is not the easiest but it certainly does the work for us. We just need to settle into it. I think entering an eclipse with questions or precarity about certain circumstances or life situations can feel perhaps a little freaky but the good thing is – what is meant to stay will stay, what is meant to dissolve will dissolve, what happens will happen, eclipses have a goal, and goals can be hard to achieve.

I have to say, I feel pretty good about this eclipse. That’s not to reduce the reality that eclipses are challenging no matter what, but November our last eclipse season was a wildly intense month and looking at the chart, this eclipse has a different mission – bravery, life, creativity, emotional facing and then working to express those emotions without being defensive or outrageously sensitive, beginnings/endings/transitions (it is the 29th anaretic degree).

Without getting too lost in the sauce of this chart, I do want to explain briefly what makes it such a marvel to my eyes.

We call this eclipse a Hybrid Eclipse. This is because it is straddling two zodiacal energies, Aries and Taurus. So while yes, the fixed signs (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio) are getting somewhat of a break, the sun and moon immediately move into Taurus less than 3 hours after the eclipse. While it introduces us to our next eclipse series (Aries-Libra), we are then immediately reminded that the Taurus-Scorpio lessons of the last year and a half are not complete.

New eclipse series are introduced at a super high volume, and being in Aries we can expect a lightning bolt. It will come in strong, loud, and bold. It is certainly exciting! I don’t have to tell any of you twice that these eclipses in Taurus and Scorpio have been extreme- living under this axis that defines the beauties, trials and tribulations associated with life, death, rebirth and transformation. We have two more on this axis (May 5 & October 28).

Aries-Libra will have a different narrative: human connection, independence, codependence, expression, influence. This series will simply say it as it is, obviously and literally.

Back to the chart.

This eclipse in Aries is ruled by Mars in Cancer – sensitive, defensive, emotional processing on the deepest level - Mars in Cancer is the bubbling we feel within us that does need room to burst. Remember bursting without thought, intention, and awareness can lead to unnecessary arguments but intentional anger can lead to transformation and resolve.

Anger is powerful, anger suggests action, anger suggests life is inside you, anger suggests the readiness for growth and now you will do whatever it takes. But anger is delicate. it is better to face it than not. When we are shy of our anger, when we avoid it, is when we see it backlash. Meditate on this.

Mars in Cancer and the Moon in Aries are in mutual reception, meaning they are being ruled by each other thus whatever you are working through in this eclipse is in an alchemical and very taut relationship with Mars (passion, aggression, physicality, and yes… anger). Again I think this eclipse is gonna bring up a lot but also solve a lot. So buckle up.

Not only are Mars and the moon in mutual reception but so are Mercury and Venus. And then, what happens on Sunday only days after the eclipse… Mercury stations retrograde. Yes, mercury retrograde during eclipse season. All the classic mercury retrograde stuff will come up as it always does… the eclipse may heighten it.. I think? Mercury and Venus in mutual reception is an amazing combination, perhaps my favorite mutual reception. technology mishaps, travel disruptions,

Not only are Mars and the moon in mutual reception but so are Mercury and Venus. And then, what happens on Sunday only days after the eclipse… Mercury stations retrograde. Yes, Mercury retrograde during eclipse season. The eclipse may heighten all the classic Mercury retrograde mishaps (technology, travel, miscommunication) although because Mercury in Taurus and Venus in Gemini are also in mutual reception (mercury is ruled by Venus and Venus is ruled by mercury)- this is helpful  when it comes to accomplishing with more clarity and more momentum than what may usually occur during a Mercury retrograde. And, this mutual reception could be helpful for our interpersonal relationships as well.

I give you all this information because eclipses hit us and sometimes it’s best we sit with them, allow them to do what they will. Couple things to remember – don’t force your body to do anything that your body is adamantly telling you not to do – eclipses do not like that. When you feel the surge of energy to take action, do it powerfully. If you want to live with ease, make that choice. Don’t be passive about it. And lastly, even in your actions and choices during this season, do not avoid what is important. Notice, acknowledge, and approach in safe, healthy, sustainable and progressive ways.

2022 ECLIPSE NEWSLETTERS

Tuesday November 8 2022
Total Lunar [Blood Moon] Eclipse 6:02 AM EST | 3:02 AM PST
16º Taurus

A Total Lunar Blood Moon Eclipse in Taurus settled in at 6:02am EST. And in this eclipse, we have all hands on deck. Of course it is an eclipse so the North and South nodes are obviously involved– this is what indicates the eclipse in the sky. In eclipse season, our nature & our proximity to challenging situations feels closer, feels more real – We are feeling. It is the moon. And as I’ve written before and will write again – by the end of eclipse season, something if not multiple things have changed. And with every eclipse, we see changes. Life changes. This is the truth. Eclipse season is truth-time. That is amazing and can feel terrifying.

But this eclipse isn’t just any eclipse.

Mercury, Venus, Uranus, Saturn, Mars Retrograde, Jupiter Retrograde are all involved. We are individually standing in the center of a ring. We are being stared out by forces and activated by so many different narratives – all the integral narratives that make up our lives. Eclipses are stories with beginnings, middles, and ends. To write a story, we have to go through a process –we can’t jump from start to finish or it’s not a story. With all of these planets involved, many stories are going through a process. This is an all-encompassing, life altering eclipse. It is overwhelming and yet it is our responsibility to focus on the avenue that needs the most attention. The planets are circling the narratives right now, although not every story is going to get the same attention.

I’m sure you know the narrative that can use the most attention.

Sometimes when I look at a chart of the current moment, I am silenced.

This eclipse chart silences me, I hear every planetary voice shouting, they all want attention, and we are stuck in the center of a ring, allowing the planets to fight over our narrative. One planet is saying trust your voice, the other one is saying no don’t trust your voice you need to push your voice and be louder, and another planet is saying but what do you really want. There are decisions that need to be made, things that need to be done, said, accounted for in all of our lives, but for this moment we need to encourage relaxing, slowing down a bit, we need to think, and in our thinking process, feel super comfortable.

Taurus is the youngest earth sign. It is the energy that can make a lot out of little, extravagant meals from two ingredients (figuratively and literally.) Taurus can find pleasure in a singular material and notice all the ways the material is abundant and perfect. Taurus - Scorpio wants us to indulge in what makes life emotional and valuable.

We cannot manifest during an eclipse (the moon is in-charge!), but we can take a minute to think about the next 6 months (May 5 & May 19 2023 will be the next eclipse season in Scorpio and Taurus) and where we would like to story, the transformation to occur, what are we releasing/developing? Where is there a beginning thus where must there be an ending? Where/what are you hiding from?

Please listen to your body, please do not push yourself, awareness is key.  Stay in the process of what you are doing, immerse yourself in that process toward greater embodiment of your life, and remember that symbolism is everywhere. What is your life telling you and where is it guiding you? How are you going to listen, vocalize, and remain whole?

NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE 6:49 AM EST || 3:49 AM PST

2º SCORPIO

We are about one day past the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio which officially puts us in eclipse season. I really hope my email finds you well amidst this time. I know it's not an easy time and especially this eclipse! We are dealing with the axis of life (Taurus) and death (Scorpio), and obviously I do not mean to be dramatic, but hey – this is the axis that teaches us about intensity, calm, peace, celebration, chaos, transformation, contentment, tangible resources, spiritual resources, intimacy, affection, and emotional fluidity.

Ooof… that deserves a deep breath :)

Last eclipse season was April 30, 2022 – this was a Partial Solar Eclipse in Taurus and May 16, 2022 – this was a Total Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio. If you have joined my practice since then and now, I think it's really important I provide a short description of the signification/symbolism of an eclipse in the sky. Because like most astrological events, I see all kinds of language on the world wide web that feel a little left of center…

Eclipses are the crux of astrology. They frame the stories of our lives in nice little 1.5 year packages. So think back to those two dates above in April and May. Look at your photos, locate that time clearly.

What was going on? Who was around you? What were you working through? How did your life develop and change by the middle to end of May? What are the similarities between then and now? What are the differences? And because this is Scorpio-Taurus, it behooves us to be thorough and embodied while indulging in our senses and intensities.

Eclipse stories enlighten and uplift parts of our birth chart to force lessons and change. Yes, eclipses are forceful which is why we need to sit back and watch the show – just like we often do quite literally during certain eclipses – we watch them! In our lives, we have to contemplate and be pensive but release control.

Things are happening, forming, manifesting all the time and some things require our direction and other things just simply do not. This is a beautiful, challenging, and thoughtful process. What is forming in your life that you simply need to release control around? (a very Scorpio-Taurus question)

I love eclipses because they work for us, we don't work for them.  As I’ve said before, this is the moon's tax season and the moon is our accountant — it is busy, overwhelmed, taking account of the whole last year (eclipse to eclipse) and the year ahead.

What we experienced yesterday was a Partial Eclipse in Scorpio; the Total Eclipse comes November 8. So we are ramping up right now to that energy – in other words, we’re on the ride.

I want to be sure you are not ignoring your emotions (I’m looking at everyone but especially have my eye on all my Scorpio & Taurus Moon clients plus anyone with major fixed placements – Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, Aquarius.)

The moon is in Fall in Scorpio meaning it would rather fall backward from the emotions than toward because of just how intense the experience of this moon is. With Scorpio we think of the moisture, the mud, the swamp and Scorpio loves those murky waters where real depth occurs. It is an energy that enjoys the caves and crevasses while Taurus brings the blankets and sustenance.  It is important to recognize if you are hardening your emotional life at this time. Consider the process of clay taking shape. It's not quite time to harden the mold or the sculpture because the sculpture is being formed – it is wet and malleable still. Use your awareness if you are pushing that process along too fast.

Scorpio- the clay, the materials

Taurus- the sculpture, the pottery

Together they are the kiln!

Lastly I want to leave you with a hallmark theme of this eclipse season -

The abundant release of fears!!

Mantra language (for Scorpio-Taurus axis) to think about, borrow, utilize, and create from:

I am abundantly releasing fears. I am recognizing my fears and how they hold me back. I am allowing my fears to shed and fall away from me. This (fill in the blank) fear no longer serves me. I am open to freedom. I trust my body’s process of releasing internal battles that I struggle with.

NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE 4:28 PM EST || 1:28 PM PST
10º TAURUS

Happy Eclipse Weekend. Or perhaps 'happy' is not the accurate word, but 'GO.' Go Eclipse Weekend. But of course, I hope it is a happy one after all.
This is an extraordinarily, special and even – positive eclipse. Frankly, I'm not an eclipse-lover. They are heavy, strong, and they have this uncontrollable power to pull our minds and bodies inward and downward – exhausting and simultaneously enlivening. It's all very confusing during eclipse season like the whitewash waves of the ocean. And we can't stand in the face of an eclipse and say 'Please Stop' because well, they have a mind of their own. As we know, the moon moves quickly, and eclipse season teaches us that some-things you just can't control. And the moon, when in eclipse season, is that celestial body.

This eclipse is in Taurus, the earth sign ruled by Venus. OKAY SO, Why is it so special?

If you are a client who works with me regularly then you know I try to break things down in equations. And so with this eclipse, we have to look to Venus to redeem more information. And Venus is currently in Pisces which is what we call an 'exalted' placement plus, it will be touching Jupiter which is also in Pisces, Jupiter's ancient ruler.

Now many of you have seen me write these things before (Jupiter in Pisces, etc.) but astrology is a constant reminder of cycles and currently we cannot ignore Venus and we certainly cannot ignore Jupiter. And what else, alongside all of this is Neptune (also in Pisces for about 11 years) the modern ruler of Pisces. .JUPITER, VENUS, NEPTUNE [IN PISCES] AND an ECLIPSE [IN TAURUS] RULED BY VENUS~GASP!

...And then our hearts explode, the end....

Hahaha, I'm just kidding... or am I?

Well here's the thing – Deep Breath, y'all – this a lot to breathe into. My gosh, I can't even quantify the level of energy (romantic, poetic, creative, sensual, destined, sheer lucid purity) this is cultivating – the investment in our sensory experience of life, the ability to acknowledge our comforts, our privileges, our access on the physical plane (Taurus), the psychic or astral plane (Pisces), the unconscious effort to discover what we need to survive (Eclipse) ... is it connection, touch, engagement – yeah all of this.
We talk about manifestation with the moon but an eclipse begs us not to manifest – it begs us to sit the f*** down. Let it wash over you because it is working its magic and it will for the next year (we have eclipses in Taurus and Scorpio until 2023). We have a gift this eclipse – we have a Saturday and if you are able just enjoy the rest, perhaps the sunshine (wherever you are) or the rain or the ocean, a walk, a wander, the flowers, paint and paintbrush, a nice meal with your friends, family, or the trees in the park. Allow yourself to cry, laugh, love ecstatically because that is all we can do. The eclipse will affect you no matter what so stay tuned, and practice being present, no overplanning, no force, just ––BE HERE NOW (yes, I just quoted Ram Dass, you're welcome)

Current clients, new clients, and old clients ALIKE,I am going to enjoy this eclipse myself – so I will not be available tomorrow, but [after that] if you want to understand where this eclipse falls in your birth chart and how it will directly impact you, then you know where to find me.
As always, I am here for you.
